
A memorial service will be held at Indianapolis First Friends Meeting on Sunday May 1st at 4:00 p.m. (3030 Kessler Blvd East, Indianapolis, 46220).
Jerry Henricks, 81, passed away on Monday April 18th 2016. Born on May 3rd 1934, Jerry was the first son of Ray and Mary Henricks and the oldest of nine children. He attended Manual High School and was a life long supporter of the school. He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1956 and was drafted and served in the US Army’s Third Armor Division in Germany. He enjoyed a long and varied career in the consumer electronics industry as a sales and marketing executive working for companies such as RCA, Sylvania, Olivetti, Hitachi and Jensen Car Stereo. He had a second career as a photographic artist selling pictures at art fairs in the Midwest as well as writing under the name of Wordman. Appearing in more than a dozen HH Gregg commercials, he was the cantankerous grandpa that appeared in the ad series in the 1990’s.
Jerry is survived by his wife Beth, as well as his children Kurt, Greg and Lisa Contreras, and his siblings Bonnie Fazio, Jennifer O’Riordan (Nick), Katrina Henricks, Chris Henricks, Lana Henricks, and Lori Momberg (John) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunt. He is preceded in death by his brother Daniel and sister Teresa King and his parents.
Jerry was a member of Indianapolis First Friends Meeting and his Quaker faith impacted everything that he believed in and causes that he supported.
